Week of Jan 30th

A Message from the Administrative Team:

"This New Year may you have the courage to march forward without hesitation to realize all your dreams and ambitions. "
                                                                                                                                   ~ Chinese New Year

Xin nian kuai le to those who celebrate the Chinese New Year! We hope you enjoy this joyous time.

Our weather has been quite mild which resulted in muddy fields and large puddles.  Please bring a pair of indoor shoes to help keep our floors and carpets clean.  A change of clothes for the younger grades is also highly recommended.

We have had a team come in to wipe down many rooms in the school as we've had many students ill with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.  Please keep students home if they are sick to prevent the spread of illness.

Just a reminder that there is supervision in both the North and South yard in the morning from 8:40 am till the bell. Please remember that if your child arrives after Oh Canada, please have them sign in at the office before going to class.

Have a super week!
~ Ms Broderick and Ms Rosenbloom

We have started a new program this year at Bessborough! It is called Movement Matters! This is for grades 1-6. We will be in the big gym at 8:20am where we will be playing games and getting some exercise. If your child is in daycare we will pick them up from daycare. We have gone around to the 1-6 classes so they should have a understanding of what the program is!

Get ready as it starts this Monday morning!

Join Folkfest!

Folkfest is back at Bessborough starting this Feb. 7.

Folkfest is a club for students in Grades 3 – 6. Each week, students will learn a new folk dance.

On May 16 (rain date May 18), there is a Folkfest event at East York Collegiate for Folkfest clubs all over the TDSB.  Hundreds of students come to the event and perform the dances they have learned together.

Folkfest will take place on Tuesdays after lunch is eaten. Children will be escorted to the big gym at 12:05.

If you are interested, please fill out this form and return it to your teacher by Monday, February 6.  We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Ms. Cook and Ms. Willoughby
