Week of Jan 16th

A Message from the Administrative Team:

"Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% is perspiration. "
                                                                                                                                   ~ unknown

We hope everyone has adjusted to the back to school schedule!
Lunch programs are still be filled and rooms are being allocated.  Stay tuned for more information!

Roads, sidewalks and fields are very icy.  Please take care when walking to and from school.  Please have a discussion with your child about recess play.  Careful and safe play will help prevent injuries.

** A reminder NOT to park on the east side of Bessborough.  This is the side in front of the school.  This area is a bus loading area.  It is also unsafe for our students when they arrive or leave school as there is not enough space for cars to drive by when parked on both sides of the street.  There is parking on the west side of the street or on other side streets. Though this may be an inconvenience, our first concern is the safety of all children.

A reminder that we have a PA Day this Friday January 20th.

Have an awesome week!
~ Ms Broderick and Ms Rosenbloom

From the Athletic Council:

The Bessborough Athletic Council is running intramurals for grade fives and sixes. Because there is no school on Friday, only the grade fives will have intramurals this week, Thursday at lunch.

Students participating will be picked up from the lunchroom at 12:00 and brought to the big gym to begin their first intramural. Please make sure they are prepared with proper shoes and a lunch.

The Bessborough Athletic Council is excited to continue more fun intramurals in the weeks to come.

Welcome to 2017!
I hope that everyone had a great break from usual routine and are enthusiastic and ready to enjoy the winter. Ugh!
Our next ward forum will be January 24 at Bessborough Drive Elementary & Middle School at 7 pm. Along with sharing information about what is happening centrally at the TDSB we will welcome a very interesting guest speaker. Heather Johnson is one of two Social Workers, who supports Mental Health & Well-Being- System system wide. She will be sharing information about how our schools are striving to promote mental health and well-being with our children. Please mark the date and time in your calendar.

Appreciation Corner
A huge THANK YOU to the Rands and Israel families who kindly donated rugs for our grade 4 classrooms.  Now, Home & School does not need to spend the allocated $1,000 to purchase new ones.  Many thanks to both families for letting us benefit from your new year purges!

Remember you can always visit www.bessboroughhomeandschool.com for details on all of this and more!
