"A negative mind will never give you a positive life."
We hope you enjoyed the weekend with lots of rest and family time.
Just a reminder to drop off forgotten lunches on the table outside the office. You can label the lunch with your child's name. To reduce interruptions to instructional time please let office staff know and we will let your child know to pick it up.
March Break is not far away. If your family is going on an early vacation or extended vacation, please let the office know ahead of time to ease our safe arrival process.
Have an outstanding week!
~ Ms Broderick and Ms Rosenbloom
... Bessborough has our morning announcements through video using Google Hangout? Cool!
Student announcers read the morning messages from Google Doc and present from a laptop in Ms Rosenbloom's office. Classrooms can view the announcements on the interactive boards or iPads.
A big thank you to Ms Surdivall and Mr McMillan for organizing the viewing and providing live performances of Oh Canada.
Now more students are listening to the morning announcements.
Student Safety First! -
Parking Restrictions on Bessborough
Safety of our students is our number one concern. We encourage all our students to walk or bike to school and want them to feel safe on their way.
Bessborough Drive is becoming very congested in the mornings due to the cars parking or stopping on the east side of Bessborough. This make it very dangerous for students crossing the street as cars are trying to squeeze by.
Please do not park or stop in front of the school. Please allow time in the morning to park in the designated areas in order for traffic to flow in a safe way. A nice walk in the am is great for everyone!
Designated areas are indicated in red.
This week's Mindful Minute was Laughter Yoga. The link for this exercise can be found here:
During this week's discussions, the Wellness Group talked about self-compassion, or more simply being kind to yourself. This week's announcements will foucs on some of our favourite ways to encourage self-compassion.
Winter Activity Day Photos
The Bessborough Yearbook Committee is looking for some photos of Sheldon, Scientist in the School, TIFF for the yearbook. If any parent volunteers have an opportunity to snap a couple pics this coming Thursday, we would love you to share them with us.
Please send your best quality photos to bessboroughyearbook@gmail.com. Be sure to send the largest file size you have (best resolution) or if sending from your iPhone, please send “Actual Size”. We’re always looking for photos, so send any you want to share from any other recent school event too. For any questions, please email Sue Thurow at susan.thurow@tdsb.on.ca or Corey Ferguson at c.ginou@sympatico.ca.
We are looking for lunchroom supervisors who are willing to come and supply when needed. Supervisors will receive calls prior to 9:00 am to work at 11:40 am. If you are interested or have questions, contact caroline.rosenbloom@tdsb.on.ca.

Appreciation Corner
A shout out to the Student Engagement Committee - under the direction of Ms. Ciobanu, Ms. Wong and Ms. Angheloni - who organized a fundraiser selling candy grams as an opportunity for students to show friendship and appreciation for one another. It was a great success!
