Week of March 27th

A Message from the Administrative Team:

"If tolerance. respect and equity permeate family life, they will translate into values that shape societies, nations and the world."
                           ~ Kofi Annan

We hope you enjoyed the weekend.

We have lots of work being done at the school including an overhall of the new PA system and more painting around the school.

To keep our school looking fresh, please make sure you have indoor shoes for those muddy days as we want to help keep our school clean.  Extra clothes left at school for the primary students are recommended to avoid phone calls home after accidents or falls in the puddles.

Just a reminder to please let the school know if your child is not returning for the following school year.

Have a super week!
~ Ms Broderick and Ms Rosenbloom

Did you know...

... when Gr 2 students want to honour their teachers and last year teachers, they throw a party!

Gr 2 students carefully planned and orchestrated a party to celebrate Ms Thurow and Ms Ho. They created a plan on their own, invited grade 1 students and also decided to honour their last year's Gr 1 teachers Mr Chong and Ms Gamm. It was amazing to see the decorations, food, dance and speeches they gave...all by Gr 2s. That's what we called determination! Gr 2's...you rock!

Moving or Changing Schools?

If your child is currently in K-7 and you are moving or changing schools for the 2017 - 2018 school year, please let the office know as soon as possible as we will soon begin planning the classes for next year.

Classes are created based on a variety of factors including number of students, gender, group dynamics and other needs to ensure a balance within the grade.

Late Arrivals:

Just a reminder that if your child is late for morning and afternoon attendance, students are marked absent and our automated voice call will call out to parents.  To change the status and avoid the calls, students must report to the office for a late slip to change the status to late.  In this case, a call will not be made home.

Please review the attendance procedures with your child.

Countdown to Mayfair!
With Spring finally here it’s time to get involved with Bessborough’s largest FUNraiser…Mayfair.
Each year the Mayfair Committee looks to our parents to get involved in variety of ways:
·         Come out to the kickoff meeting to brainstorm new ideas and/or
·         Be a part of the planning committee and/or
·         Donate an item to the silent auction and/or
·         Volunteer your time on the day – Sunday, May 28th
How do you want to get involved?  Please email the Mayfair Co-Chairs - Jenn O’Donnell at jodonnell@curacomm.net or Kristin Locklin at klocklin@gmail.com to tell us how you would like to contribute to our kids’ favourite event of the year!
We look forward to hearing from you.

Ladies Night - New Date, New Host!
The always popular Ladies Night Social is now being held on Thursday June 15th so mark it down!  We are still looking for a host to open up their home for the event - you will have a team and H&S members to help you run the event.

Please contact Cabrina Skillen at Cabrina.Skillen@hotspex.com or Lauren Morgan at lauren_swinburne@hotmail.com if you are interested or want more info.

H&S General Meeting - New Date!
A reminder that our next meeting - originally scheduled for April 4th - will now be held on Wednesday April 5th at 7pm in the library.  Agenda will include a review of the class allocations for next year by Ms. Broderick.  Babysitting will be provided in the mini gym.
